This striking statistic is revealed in a recent survey conducted by Rightmove, the UK’s largest property website, into the various marketing strategies employed by agents to make their properties stand out from the online crowd. The survey’s findings are confirmed by Rightmove’s Commercial Director Miles Shipside, who unequivocally states, “Floor plans generate 30% more interest than properties without one.” 

“We have always believed that floor plans have a dramatic effect in generating buyer interest, and these figures from Rightmove prove it beyond any doubt,”” says Tim Howe, of Howe & Hawksby.

Floor plans are so effective, he explains, because they give a much clearer visual impression of the actual size and layout of a property than photographs can convey on their own. “Basically, they make it far easier for househunters using the internet – which is where over 80% of people looking to buy now start their search - to envisage themselves living in a particular property. They are also a great help when it comes to deciding really practical issues like whether you can fit your furniture in or not.”
